Guðrún Óskarsdóttir, harpsichordist

Guðrún Óskarsdóttir studied the harpsichord with Helga Ingólfsdóttir. Later her teachers were Anneke Uittenbosch at the Sweelinck Conservatorium in Amsterdam, Jesper Böje Christensen at the Scola Cantorum in Basel and Francoise Lengéllé in Paris. Guðrún is featured on many recordings and has appeared as a soloist, accompanist as well as chamber musician in numerous recitals and concerts in Iceland and elsewhere in Europe and in Japan. She is a member of Nordic Affect, the Bach ensemble of Skálholt and the Caput new music ensemble. She has also performed with the Icelandic Opera and the Icelandic Dance company. She plays both baroque music and new music and has taken part in several first performances. In 2007 she was invited to the Takefu International Music festival in Japan where she premiered three compositions for flute and harpsichord with flute player Kolbeinn Bjarnason.
