Kristín Lárusdóttir is educated in classical cello playing. She has also furthered her education in baroque music, viol playing and jazz music. Kristín has played with the Icelandic Opera, the Symphony Orchestra of North Iceland, is a member of Five in Tango and ReykjavíkBaroque. In April 2012 Kristín, along with the South Iceland Chamber Choir, premiered in Iceland the magnificent piece Svyati by John Tavener for solo cello and choir. Kristín received great praise for her performance of Tavener. Cello teaching has been one of Kristin's main job for past 19 years as well as playing her cello.
In the spring 2013 Kristín received her diploma in Computer Music (Advanced Level Examination) with outstanding marks for her final recital.
Kristín released her first solo album in 2013. She composed and arranged the music, played cello, recorded and mixed the album.
Kristín has worked and played with many musicians, for example Sigur Rós, Svavar Knútur, Hilmar Örn Hilmarsson allsherjargoði, Haraldur Vignir Sveinbjörnsson, Steindór Andersen, Amiina, Pétur Ben ofl.
