Open Call for Skálholt Summer Concerts
Skálholt Summer Concerts have an open call for the Summer Concerts 2020, taking place from July 1st to July 12th. The call is open from the February 3rd until February 17th. Skálholt Summer Concerts have offered a varied program of new music and baroque music, performed on period instruments since 1975.
Skálholt Summer Concerts take place in the Skálholt Cathedral which is only a little more than an hour drive from Reykjavík. There has been a church on this site since the 11th century. The history of the area, the beautiful landscapes and the long tradition of Icelandic church music are some of the things that make the Summer Concerts unique. Since 1975 Skálholt Summer Concerts have been a meeting place for Icelandic and international artists. We have access to convenient accommodation facilities for participants who we encourage to stay there before their performance for practices as well as enjoying what Skálholt and the surrounding area has to offer. The accommodation is free of charge for participants. The call is open to all composers, musicians and others that fit the descriptions underneath. Skálholt Summer Concerts are looking to have a diverse and elaborate program within the artistic frame of the Summer Concerts. |
